Description

Short version of a story by the Grimm Brothers: Once upon a time there were two twin brothers, both hunters by profession. By saving their lives, each of them got as a gift the cub of a lion, a bear and a wolf. They saved a princess and because they both looked the same a coin decided whose bride she would become. After years the married brother chased a stag and entered a bewitched forest ignoring his wife's warning. He was surprised by the night and kindled a campfire beneath a tree on which an old woman sat. She asked if she could warm herself by his fire and pleased him to send the animals away because she was scared. After he did, she climbed down, hit him with a cane and he became a stone statue. His twin brother found him and again the old woman tried her tactics. But she could not trick him and his animals tore her to pieces. With one of her salves, the brother could be brought back to life. Well, if you are stupid enough to enter a forbidden forest, you should at least take the ensured dangerous things with you and tidy up the mess you leave. But Who could have guessed that the old woman has offspring. Offspring who will find her mother's torn body and her cane. Offspring damned to grow up only with herself and the woods. A girl supposed to follow in her footsteps. Verberia spent a long part of her life alone in the forest. The confusion and thirst for revenge turned her into a much more powerful and much more evil witch than her mother was which also turned her into a part of the forest. She gained an inhumane appearance and her skin already shows deposits of bark, stone and moss. Unlike her mother, Verberia doesn't give a shit about treachery and diplomacy because she saw what it led to. Her name derives from the latin word 'Verbera' which means 'blows, hits or beating'. She's a cold and calculating character but once provoked, once reminded of her fateful childhood memory she's devoured by hatred, aggression and ferocity and she turns into a wild, combat-trained killer, enchanting everyone to stone who crosses her path.
