Aleksandra Tupolev Meet Aleksandra Tupolev, born in Leningrad U.S.S.R. she and her parents relocated to GE Capital City with her father attached to the diplomatic mission. A successful Cosmonaut, Colonel Tupolev and his family led a privileged life, which all ended with the fall of Communism in 1991. Stranded in GE Capital City, without a homeland to return to, Colonel Tupolev decided to call it home. Aleksandra’s mother, unable to cope with the loss of her homeland, disappeared at this time, and has not been seen by the family since. Driven from a very young age, Aleksandra excelled academically, yet always found it difficult to make friends due to her heavy accent and egocentric personality. After her mother left, Aleksandra was determined to protect her younger sister, Abigail, from the hardships she had experienced as an immigrant, and from the loss of their mother, shielding Abbie from the cruelty of the world and becoming a sort of surrogate mother. Aleksandra is frequently at odds with those around her. Seeing Frankie as a loose cannon, someone who will lead Abbie into danger, and Kaeleigh as someone who would break Abbie's heart, she is constantly suspicious of their motives. Deciding to live with the two, and keeping Abbie at arms-length when possible, is what she deems as the best possible recourse at this time. Intelligent and driven, Aleksandra devotes her attention to controlling those around her, and very little to develop her own happiness. She is constantly frustrated when those whom she tries to fix make mistakes do not heed her lessons, yet will never give up on those around her.
