A friend of mine got this pedal (BOSS Metalzone) in the mid nineties with a 50 watt Marshall amp, and i got the BOSS Heavy Metal.
Truthfully, i was blown away by how much better the Metalzone sounded! This was the sound i was looking for at the time.
My pedal then? It was so fucking inferiour in my ears i switched it out for some kind of Marshal pedal i can't remember the name of....
BOSS Metalzone and an early nineties Ibanez pedal another friend of mine had (name unknown) blew my head off by the tonnes of earcandy it pushed through my ears!
Me? I later got my hands on a Line6 digiipod something, i stil have laying around. I used that for the demos for the band i was in lately.... 7-8 years ago.
